Gary Isom – Serve with Purpose

Carol and Gary Isom - Serving with Purpose
Carol and Gary Isom

Please welcome Gary Isom to the PHUMC Foundation Board as a member of the Class of 2028. Gary serves with the other 14 Board members. Others in the Class of 2028 are Karen Barnwell, Tony Bozynski, Jill Penick, and Kathy Roberts. Gary and his wife, Carol, have been PHUMC members for almost 20 years. The Isoms joined the PHUMC congregation in Little Rock when Vic Nixon  was the Senior Pastor. The convenient location in Hillcrest was an added bonus. Gary believes that people should serve with purpose – not just fill a chair.

Gary and Carol are members of the Koinonia Sunday School Class, and regularly volunteer with the PHUMC Food Pantry. He and Carol are members of the Willing Friends Society with the goal to provide funding for educational opportunities. He brings experience from state government, financial institution boards, and financial planning. Gary retired from his last position as the Executive Director of the Arkansas Real Estate Commission.  In his ‘free’ time, Gary enjoys traveling with Carol, with frequent visits to New Mexico.

Gary’s guiding priority is simple: serving people. PHUMC’s support of the University District’s Mobile Market is key to providing access to food for families that might not have. His hope is to reach families and individuals in our community and state who might otherwise be overlooked or face barriers to assistance. Gary’s goal is to serve with purpose.

Gary encourages individuals and families to start early when considering the financial legacy they want to leave. Your PHUMC Foundation can help explore options and support those long-term goals.
